August Update

Last week we received confirmation—from the third neurologist we consulted—that Tyler does in fact have ALS. This is definitely not the news we wanted to hear, but now that we know with certainty what we are facing, we can, in a sense, move forward with our plan for Tyler’s treatment and dive head first into bringing awareness.

We were also fortunate to meet with Amanda and Eric Stevens (@TeamStevensNation) this past week. Eric is a 29 year old firefighter who was diagnosed with ALS a year ago. We are so grateful that God put these two inspiring people in our lives and know that meeting them was an absolute godsend! Moving forward, we will join arms in raising awareness, fundraising, lobbying for FDA approval of medications and treatments, and working to find a cure for this horrible disease so we can #WipeOutALS!

Seeking a change in scenery, we took a little break and headed up north to get away. It was wonderful to have five days away where ALS was not our main topic of conversation. Plus, the break from the unending doctor’s appointments this last month made us all very happy. We spent the majority of our time at the beach and on the golf course…two of Tyler’s most favorite things! It was a great trip and the quality family time was exactly what we needed to regroup and regenerate for the fight of our lives!

Tyler, and our family, are beyond thankful for all of the love and generous support pouring in over these past few weeks. You all are amazing! 100% of the funds raised will go directly to helping with costs associated with treating ALS.
